We seek applications from an early-career scholar for a tenure-track assistant professor position. Candidates should demonstrate strong potential for developing an independent research program. We also welcome applications from established scholars (Associate or Full Professor), who have a demonstrated record of excellence in research and leadership in the field.

Current strengths in the Psychology Program at NYU Abu Dhabi include the study of vision, memory, language, political psychology, inequality, gender, early childhood development, and attachment and identity throughout the lifespan.

 : Successful candidates will have access to a faculty research grant including personnel lines, in addition to state-of-the-art facilities including: (1) An imaging center housing a Siemens Prisma 3T MRI scanner and two MEG systems (SQUID and OPM), with support for multimodal data acquisition (MEG+EEG+eytracking; fMRI+EEG) and dedicated technical staff, in addition to integration with a High Performance Computing facility with more than 6,400 computing cores, (2) Behavioral testing facilities equipped with standalone EEGs, eye-tracking, virtual reality, physiological measures (GSR, heart rate, etc...), and robotics, and social psychology experimental rooms; (3) State-of-the-art Child Observation Lab equipped with video and audio recording technology, a one-way observation window, and a connected control room.

The search will prioritize candidates who specialize in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), including but not limited to areas such as deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, reinforcement learning, ethical/trustworthy AI, and interdisciplinary applications of AI/ML in various domains. Available openings are at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor rank (tenured/tenure-track). Applicants should hold a PhD and demonstrate an outstanding track record for their career stage, in both research and teaching. This includes having publications in leading peer-reviewed journals or conferences, as well as experience in or the potential to lead research projects and secure research funding. As part of a multi-year hiring plan, we are interested in excellent candidates from Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, but may also consider other areas of Computer Science, including, but not limited to the fields where we have current strengths.<br>

We will consider applicants from legal scholars with an active research agenda in all areas of law. We are especially interested in those whose research and teaching include international and comparative dimensions, as well as private law.<br>

The program in Legal Studies was established as an interdisciplinary program at NYU Abu Dhabi in 2018. It is situated within the Social Sciences and the Arts and Humanities. The Program offers teaching towards the BA with a major or a minor in Legal Studies. The Program teaches courses mainly in the common law, but provides many opportunities to study civil law.<br>

The major in legal studies provides for the academic study of the law in the context of a liberal arts education. We approach questions of legal doctrine against the background of broader questions of human experience. What is justice? What is Law? How is it organized? Who and what constitutes the arbiter of justice? What are the effects of historical, cultural, religious, and national settings on law and justice? What are the legal issues raised by global concerns such as those about the environment, technology, and trade? Our students combine the study of law with the study of the core curriculum but also with many optional courses they take in the humanities and the social sciences.<br>

New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks an accomplished scholar and visionary leader to serve as its next Dean of the Division of Social Science. This is a rare opportunity to shape a dynamic academic division at a pivotal moment in the university&rsquo;s evolution. The Dean will lead a vibrant community of scholars who advance foundational and applied research on some of the most pressing issues of our time - ranging from inequality, governance, and social change - within a highly international and interdisciplinary environment.</p>
<p><b>
The Division</b><br>
The Social Science Division is home to over 80 full-time faculty, including a Nobel Laureate in Economics and a vibrant community of post-doctoral researchers in Economics, Political Science, Social Research &amp; Public Policy, Business Organizations &amp; Society, and Legal Studies. The Division offers five undergraduate majors as well as graduate programs. Faculty conduct world-class research that is both theoretically rigorous and globally engaged, with collaborations spanning every continent and close ties to policy and practice in the UAE and beyond. The Division&rsquo;s research strength is internationally recognized - Economics at NYUAD ranks 4th in Asia in Research Papers in Economics, and Political Science ranks 6th globally according to a recent study. Its faculty regularly publish in leading disciplinary and interdisciplinary journals.</p>

The Dean will have a unique opportunity to capitalize on this momentum: building on the Division&rsquo;s existing strengths in graduate education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the global and local visibility of its research and teaching.</p>

The Role</b><br>
The Dean reports to the Provost and serves as a key member of NYUAD&rsquo;s senior leadership team. As the Division&rsquo;s chief academic officer, the Dean will provide strategic leadership for its faculty, curricula, and research agenda, championing excellence and innovation in both research and pedagogy. The role also carries significant responsibility for fostering an accessible and collaborative academic community and for representing the Division&rsquo;s strengths to partners within and beyond NYU.</p>
<p>
As part of the senior administration, the Dean must work effectively and collegially with other deans as well as academic and administrative leaders. In addition to engaging with members of the Division of Social Science, they must also be able to work with faculty across the institution. The Dean must be committed to two-way communication, to fostering trust, and to building community at the campus, national, and international levels.</p>

The successful candidate will combine academic distinction with sound judgment and the ability to inspire others around a shared vision, while demonstrating strong leadership in managing, supporting, and developing faculty and staff.</p></div>
