The Role
Thornton Tomasetti is seeking a passionate team player to join our Sustainability and Resilience team as an intern to assist with a variety of Resilience projects, ranging from multi-hazard risk assessments to design consulting services of buildings and infrastructure systems throughout the greater New York City area and beyond. This person will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of staff engineers and architects to provide assistance on a variety of tasks for active resilience-focused projects. This is a full-time internship for Summer 2026.
Responsibilities
While project work can vary greatly from day to day, typical tasks may include the following:<ul><li>
Research and analysis of the latest climate and resilience-related academic studies</li><li>
Analysis of natural and man-made shocks and stresses</li><li>
Climate change impacts analysis</li><li>
On-site survey, investigation, and documentation of building conditions</li><li>
2D drafting in AutoCAD</li><li>
Analysis and design of architectural or structural systems, with possible assistance on mechanical, electrical, fire protection, or plumbing systems</li><li>
Review of existing project drawings and related documents</li><li>
Code research</li><li>
Drawing preparation and development</li><li>
PowerPoint presentation preparation</li><li>
Report preparation</li><li>
Collaboration and coordination with other TT teams (i.e. Structures, Facades)</li><li>
Assistance in project administration</li><li>
Construction observation</li></ul>
Requirements
Students should be familiar and comfortable with Microsoft Suite programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CAD programs (i.e. AutoCAD). Familiarity with any of the following programs is a plus, but is not required:<ul><li>

ArcGIS (and HAZUS)</li><li>
Coastal modeling</li><li>
Revit</li><li>

Compensation
The rate for this position generally is $25 - $35 hourly. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee&rsquo;s pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.

Productize repeatable patterns: Turn bespoke customer integrations into reusable, configurable solutions that accelerate future deployments.</li><li>
Support deployments: Partner with Agent PMs during customer onboarding to scope, configure, and validate integrations</li><li>
Contribute to roadmap: Surface insights from customer work to inform how Decagon should evolve its integration platform.</li><li>
Documentation &amp; knowledge sharing: Create clear internal docs and playbooks so future integrations can be delivered faster.</li></ul>
Your background looks something like this<ul><li>
5+ years of experience in integrations, solutions engineering, or backend/API-focused roles (ideally in B2B SaaS).</li><li>
Strong technical skills with APIs, webhooks, and authentication standards (OAuth, SAML, etc.).</li><li>
Hands-on experience integrating with platforms like Zendesk, Salesforce, or similar enterprise SaaS.</li><li>
A track record of building integrations from scratch and making them production-ready.</li><li>
Comfort balancing customer-specific problem solving with building towards scalable, reusable solutions.</li><li>
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset&mdash;able to work closely with PMs, engineers, and customer stakeholders.</li><li>
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.</li></ul>
