Job Description 
Why This Role Matters
This is a senior technical leadership role that provides critical support to the Head of Technical Networks across wastewater networks and pumping stations. The role plays a key part in strengthening technical capability, operational resilience, and continuity within the network function.
By providing depth of expertise and leadership coverage, the position reduces single-point dependency and supports effective succession planning. It ensures the organisation is well positioned to manage a growing and increasingly complex portfolio, maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient network performance as scale and operational demands continue to increase.
What You&rsquo;ll Drive
Support leadership, planning, and delivery of wastewater network and pumping station infrastructure.
Lead major capital and infrastructure projects across the full lifecycle:<ul><li>
Planning and concept development</li><li>
Design and technical review</li><li>
Tendering and contractor procurement</li><li>
Construction, testing, commissioning, and handover</li></ul>
Provide senior technical oversight across:<ul><li>
Gravity sewers</li><li>
Rising mains</li><li>
Pumping stations</li><li>
Urban infrastructure interfaces (roads, utilities, third-party assets)</li></ul>
Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Integrate operational, maintenance, and long-term asset performance considerations into project delivery.
Manage and coordinate contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
Act as senior technical interface with:<ul><li>
Municipalities and regulators</li><li>
Government agencies</li><li>
Contractors and suppliers</li><li>
Operations &amp; Maintenance partners</li></ul>
Contribute to governance, quality assurance, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support operational integration and asset handover processes.
Leadership &amp; People Management:<ul><li>
Provide senior technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams (engineers, planners, designers, safety, site staff).</li><li>
Support team development, capability building, and mentoring.</li><li>
Progressively assume broader leadership responsibility across the portfolio.</li></ul> 

Qualifications 
You&rsquo;re a Great Fit If You Have<ul><li>
Bachelor degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering</li><li>
Strong wastewater network and pumping station experience</li><li>
Proven delivery of complex infrastructure projects in regulated utility or infrastructure environments</li><li>
Strong technical, project management, and problem-solving capability</li><li>
Demonstrated leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills</li><li>
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in high-pressure environments</li><li>
Proactive, solutions-focused, and capable of supporting long-term organizational capability growth</li></ul>
