Seasonal Bartender – Waterside Bar | $40-$50/hr Peak

Coriander Kitchen & Farm — Detroit (Far East Side, 48215)
$10/hour + tips (peak season averages $30–$40/hour)
Full-time or Part-time | Seasonal

Coriander Kitchen & Farm is a woman-owned restaurant and bar tucked inside a former marina in Detroit’s canal district — a slightly hidden, waterside spot on the far east side of the city.

We’re not Midtown. We’re not a club. We’re not a corporate cocktail bar.

We are high-volume restaurant that is a little scrappy and is serious about hospitality.

We run a full cocktail program built around seasonal ingredients (yes, we actually grow the herbs), alongside approachable beers and wines.

We build real drinks, not pre-batched VIP pours. Speed matters, but so does care — especially when we’re working with our farm product. If you’re used to slinging vodka sodas all night, this probably isn’t the right fit.

Some of you are production bartenders — you love the flow of shaking, building, resetting, and staying one step ahead.

Some of you are personality bartenders — you make the bar feel like the best seat in the house and build regulars who come back for you.

The strongest candidates can do both.

What matters here:

  • 2+ years experience behind a high-volume bar
  • Weekend availability (non-negotiable)
  • Comfort working indoor + outdoor service
  • Staying calm when it gets slammed
  • Taking pride in your work and supporting your team

You can make strong money here — especially when it’s humming — but this isn’t a “churn and burn” bar. The vibe matters. The guests matter. The team matters.

Our Timeline:
We’re hiring a couple strong bartenders now. Early-season shifts can ease in while the weather turns — which gives you time to learn the flow before it ramps up.

We’ll expand the team in April during a larger seasonal training push so we’re fully staffed ahead of late April and May. If you’re interested but not ready to leave your current spot yet, we’re open to starting the conversation now.

We’re primarily hiring bartenders who can commit to 4 shifts per week through peak season. Summer is the main event. We keep a smaller core team through winter and reduce staff after November.

If you want a serious summer somewhere that feels a little different — and know you can carry your weight behind a busy bar — send a resume and a short note telling us:

  • Where you’ve bartended
  • What your busiest shift looked like
  • Your availability

We actually read these.
