Position Summary:

Under close direction of senior research staff, conducts activities to support research projects

Seasonal Hires are a temporary status and therefore may not be employed for a period of more than four and ½ months. These individuals may be hired either as full-time or part-time and must be a minimum age of 16 years

Position Key Accountabilities:

• Performing in vitro culture, treatment and manipulation of explanted mouse smooth muscle cells (SMCs).
• Performing experiments like quantitative real time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR), immunoblotting, immunofluorescent staining, confocal microscopy.
• Performing sectioning and histopathological and immunohistochemical staining of mouse aortic tissue.
• Maintaining records of experimental protocols and data.
• General lab maintenance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Individuals must be a minimum age of 16 years.
• High School diploma or equivalent, preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently, and/or up to 5 pounds constantly to move objects. This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.
