JOB TITLE: Seasonal/Temporary Equipment Operator - Airport Maintenance

DEPARTMENT: Street Maintenance

DIVISION: Street Department

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISORS: Maintenance Manager Street

DIRECTION OF OTHERS: None

NATURE OF WORK: Assist with Airport grounds lawn maintenance and other duties as assigned.

Duties / Responsibilities

WORK PERFORMED/AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

1. Assist with mowing of Airport grounds.

2. Assist with mowing of drainage ponds.

3. Assist with mowing of road ditches.

4. Report any vehicle or equipment damage to your supervisor.

5. Report any personal injury or accident to your supervisor.

6. Answers questions of the general public when in the field, or direct public to the proper employee.

7. Perform related work as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Minimum Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age, minimum. Must hold a valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications: 5 years experience operating heavy farm equipment. Class A driver's license.

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS:

I. Must posses a valid driver's license.

EQUIPMENT AND TOOL OPERATION:
130 Horsepower Farm Tractor with 7-foot arm mower
165 Horsepower Farm Tractor with 20-foot bat wing mower
Tandem Dump Truck

Hours of Work/Physical and Mental Demands

WORKING HOURS AND CONDITIONS:

Typically 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

In compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act the following represents the Physical and Environmental Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk on uneven and rough terrain as well as paved and unpaved trails, use hands and arms to handle and manipulate objects, tools, or controls; and operate foot controls on equipment. The employee frequently is required to stand. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear. When training others in equipment operation the employee is frequently exposed to bouncing, jostling, twisting, and turning of the upper body. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally must lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
