Secondary Arabic History / Social Studies Teacher

Egypt Education Platform is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Secondary Arabic Social Studies Teacher for the academic year 2026-2027 at our reputable GEMS British International School El-Rehab. This role offers a unique opportunity for educators passionate about social studies and adept at teaching in both Arabic and English, aiming to develop students' understanding of their cultural and historical contexts.

The chosen candidate will be based in Cairo, Egypt, where they will play a key role in fostering critical thinking and a comprehensive understanding of social studies among students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cover key concepts in Arabic Social Studies, ensuring alignment with the school's curriculum standards.
  • Encourage students to think critically about social issues, history, and their cultural implications through interactive and thought-provoking classroom discussions.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance using a variety of methods, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages mutual respect, active participation, and open dialogues among students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create interdisciplinary learning experiences that enrich students' understanding of social studies.
  • Promote student engagement in extracurricular activities related to social studies, such as cultural events and community projects.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and strategies for support.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to remain current with educational best practices and curriculum developments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Studies, History, or a related field.
  • Previous experience teaching Arabic Social Studies at the Secondary level is highly desirable.
  • At least 2-3 years of teaching experience.
  • Strong knowledge of social studies content and skill in engaging students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Innovative teaching approaches that cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Commitment to professional development and active participation in school initiatives and activities.
