Secondary Math Teacher

ASTEC Charter Schools is a growing public school district, located in Oklahoma City who serves a highly diverse population.

ASTEC is searching for a Middle School Math Teacher to join our team. We are currently a 6th - 12th grade campus, and we encourage all grade level teachers to apply! Become a part of a great team and an administration who values professional development.

New teachers work a total of 187 working days in a full contract and enjoy all of the holidays, breaks, and weekends that teachers are accustomed to.

Applicants with more years and higher degrees receive more pay.

All new hires will receive a one-time sign on bonus up to $1,500, paid on their first check if they hold an OK Teaching certification.

ASTEC pays teachers between $3,000 -$11,000 more than the state minimum salaries.

The ideal candidate will have classroom management experience, knowledge of all subject areas, and proven teaching skills. The right candidate will be able to manage students' behaviors and will be responsible for planning effective lessons and activities that meet state standards.

Responsibilities:

• Teach specific curriculum to students.
• Prepare lesson plans.
• Assess student progress and communicate with parents.
• Adjust teaching methods as needed.
• Evaluate the quality of teaching materials and programs in use.
• Have knowledge and understanding of modern educational theory and practice.
• Be able to handle emergency situations such as injuries, weapons or drugs being brought to school and other security issues.

Pay: From $41,500.00 per year
