Secondary Science & Chemistry Teacher (Grades 6–12)

Location: Tucson, AZ
Type: Full-Time | On-site

Green Fields School is seeking a versatile and passionate Secondary Science & Chemistry Teacher to join our Grades 6–12 faculty. This role requires a dynamic educator who can teach both general science and technology courses across middle and high school, as well as high school-level Chemistry. We are looking for a teacher who thrives in an interdisciplinary setting, values student inquiry, and brings depth of content knowledge to the classroom.

Responsibilities:

General Science & Technology:

  • Teach foundational science courses.
  • Incorporate technology and innovation into science instruction through tools such as digital simulations, design challenges, coding, or engineering practices.
  • Engage students in project-based learning, scientific thinking, and exploration of real-world issues.
  • Use labs, hands-on activities, and demonstrations to bring concepts to life and promote inquiry-based learning.
  • Integrate cross-disciplinary themes such as sustainability, ethics in science, and STEM literacy.

Chemistry:

  • Design and deliver high school Chemistry curriculum aligned with Arizona state standards.
  • Prepare students for success in advanced coursework and post-secondary science pathways.
  • Manage all aspects of a high school lab, including equipment, inventory, and student safety protocols.
  • Support students in lab techniques, chemical analysis, data interpretation, and scientific writing.
  • Provide targeted support for a range of learners through differentiated instruction and feedback.

School-wide and Instructional Support:

  • Collaborate with faculty to ensure vertical alignment of curriculum.
  • Track and assess student progress using a variety of formative and summative tools.
  • Participate actively in professional learning communities, school events, and student mentorship opportunities.
  • Maintain high expectations for both academic rigor and personal integrity within the classroom.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, General Science, or a related STEM field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience preferred, including both middle and high school levels.
  • Proficiency in managing a lab environment, safety protocols, and inquiry-based learning.
  • Comfort with integrating instructional technology and supporting student-driven investigation.
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, and eager to contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven school community.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $46,000.00 per year
