What You Can Expect:
  • Part time, Boise
  • Under limited/moderate supervision, the Security Dispatcher provides a critical service to the Health System facilities through centralized coordination of communications services for security and emergency maintenance needs.

    • Categorizes and prioritizes incoming calls and dispatches to available resources. Cascades emergency communications, to include outside emergency agencies. May screen callers, using both scripted materials and non-scripted guidelines, to make an informed assessment of services needed.
    • Monitors, dispatches, and makes overhead announcements for all emergency responses to clinical and non-clinical events with a high degree of accuracy and per established procedures.
    • Monitors and dispatches resources from alarm system to hospitals, facilities, clinics, outbuildings, and other St. Luke’s properties. Monitors for and triages reports of potential hazards that may impact facility operations.
    • Monitors CCTV camera system covering St. Luke’s properties and access to controlled areas on Millennium system. Reports any suspicious activities or detected irregularities from monitored systems to the appropriate personnel per established protocols.
    • Provides key access control for hospital properties. Check out keys to contractors and staff, documenting location accessed, when checked out and in.
    • Confers with customers or manager to address questions, problems, and requests for service or equipment. Records and maintains files and records of requests, work or services performed, charges, expenses, inventory, and other dispatch information.
    • Collaborates with Emergency Management team as well as clinical leadership to develop and implement response plans to emergency events.
    • Coordinates helicopter landings and Air St. Luke’s transports.
    • Handles complex issues and problems and acts as first point of escalation for less experienced team members, involving leadership for operational or relational issues in a timely manner when appropriate. Ensures relevant operational information is conveyed to Leadership and co-workers on an ongoing basis.
    • Acts as a liaison between building services personnel, police and fire departments, emergency management, and administrative team personnel.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: 2 years experience
  • Licenses/Certifications: None
