Security Engineer

About Role:

We are seeking a skilled Security Engineer to help protect our systems, applications, and data from threats and vulnerabilities. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in cybersecurity, risk assessment, and security best practices, and will collaborate closely with engineering, DevOps, and IT teams to implement secure solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain security measures to protect applications, networks, and systems.
• Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests.
• Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents and threats.
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement identity and access management (IAM) and authentication/authorization controls.
• Manage firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security tools.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats, trends, and technologies.
• Provide security guidance and awareness training to internal teams.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards (ISO 27001, GDPR, etc.).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience as a Security Engineer, Cybersecurity Specialist, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of network security, application security, and cloud security.
• Experience with security tools: firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners, endpoint security, etc.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and securing cloud environments.
• Understanding of encryption, authentication protocols, and secure coding practices.
• Familiarity with security standards and regulations (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, etc.).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

• Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+.
• Experience with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD security integration.
• Knowledge of scripting and automation for security tasks (Python, Bash, etc.).
• Experience securing SaaS applications or ERP systems (e.g., Odoo).
• Experience in incident response and threat hunting.
