Security Manager

Chicago ORD IL Hyatt Regency

The Security Manager will be responsible for managing the security department and security officers, it's policies and practices, as well covering shifts, including patrolling the hotel premises, maintaining order, enforcing rules and regulations, and insuring observance of applicable laws.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and Supervise Security personnel and daily security operations
  • Ensure safety of guests, staff and hotel property
  • Conduct regular patrols and inspections on hotel premises
  • Along with hotel leaders, establish departmental and hotel security protocols
  • Prepare detail incident and investigation reports
  • Attend hotel management meetings
  • In coordination w/ HR, conduct regular safety compliance and emergency preparation courses for hotel staff
  • Respond and Follow up w/ any security related incidents.
  • Work closely with conventions, vendors and local law enforcement
  • Patrol lobbies, corridors, and public spaces
  • Investigate disturbances, complaints, thefts, vandalism, etc.
  • Detect fires or unsafe conditions
  • Evaluate safety equipment and report any damages
  • Warn or evict troublemakers as needed
  • Obtain assistance for accident victims and file accident reports
  • Notify team members and management of suspicious behaviors
  • Assist management and enforcement officers in emergency situations
  • Enter and check rooms of guests suspected of leaving without paying bill to confirm suspicions and to seize any remaining personal property
  • Coordinate Lost and Found procedures
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in security field a plus, including supervisory/management duties
  • Ability to work in various environments such as cold, rain, snow, or heat depending on the property location
  • Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
  • Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders regularly
  • Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time
  • Think clearly and react quickly in emergencies
  • Make conclusions based on facts and on your own personal judgment
  • A can-do attitude and a hands-on approach
  • A flexible schedule that allows availability days, nights, holidays, and weekends based on the demands of the hotel
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
