Job Description

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Dispatch Liaison in South Orange, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Allied Universal Patrol Officer in a university campus setting, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control, respond to alarms, and document activity using a computer or tablet while delivering standout customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or vendors by following post orders, security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of campus grounds and perimeter areas, checking doors, gates, and access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or suspicious activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and service calls in a calm, problem-solving manner, and notify appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed by site procedures.
• Monitor and document unusual activity, hazards, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations, and complete required reports and logs in a timely manner.
• Support access control by verifying identification where required, providing directions and assistance, and maintaining a professional presence at assigned posts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
