Security Technician III

Purpose: The Security Technician III is responsible for advanced access control and video installation.

Essential Duties include the following:

Meets and exceeds all required duties of the Security Technicians I and II.
Demonstrates understanding of construction documents and drawings.
Interprets and implements security drawings, project manuals, and specifications.
Performs advanced electrified door hardware installation and troubleshooting
Recommends the proper electrified hardware for the application.
Performs the installation, field integration and wiring configuration for access control, intercom and video solutions.
Demonstrates basic understanding of Ethernet networking and communication protocols for devices such as cameras, access control devices, communication devices (Airphone and Code Blue).
Assists in testing and commissioning of all terminated devices with Foreman and Superintendent
Provides mentoring and instructions for Security Technicians I and II
Works under pressure and time constraints
Completes daily update log and project status
Assists managers with weekly review of job status
Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications/ Requirements:

2-3 years performing related functions within the security industry
Basic understanding of MS Office Software especially Excel
Be able to use a multi-meter to troubleshoot and test circuits.
Security certifications recommended
Basic knowledge of RS-485 communications and wiring.
Basic knowledge of IBC chapter 10 building codes as related to access and egress doors.
Maintains strong customer focus; ability to seek and meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
Ability to meet the needs of the Project Manager, Foreman and Superintendent
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Experience with high volume workload while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
Have or willing to attain OSHA thirty training.

Physical Requirements:

Able to work off all types of ladders, lifts and elevated platforms (electric or gas powered)
Able to work at various heights up to 50 feet from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks, or other safe work areas
Able to work in restricted areas, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces and attics
Able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead
Able to carry tools and materials up to 50 pounds from the ground to overhead
Able to constantly move on feet, climbing ladders and working overhead
Possess good vision (normal or corrected)
Able to get to customer job sites

Work Environment: Able to work in all elements, depending on job locations and time of year
