Key Responsibilities:

1. Compliance

  • Stay updated on compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to local and national tax, EOBI, Deeds, PESSI and other laws relevant to Businesses.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for compliance purposes.

2. Taxation Management:

  • Handle tax matters, including income tax, sales tax, and other applicable taxes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely tax submissions and payments, in coordination with external tax consultants or authorities.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and adapt financial processes accordingly.

3. PF/EOBI/PESSI/other related:

  • Manage the company's EOBI/PF contributions, including employee enrollments and contributions.
  • Maintain records, ensure compliance, and manage employee queries related to EOBI benefits.

4. Double Entry Accounting:

  • Maintain accurate double-entry bookkeeping to record financial transactions and ensure balanced books.
  • Reconcile ledger accounts and financial statements, investigating discrepancies and correcting errors.

5. Lease Management:

  • Oversee lease agreements, including tracking lease obligations and payments.
  • Ensure accurate and timely lease renewals or terminations as needed.

6. Financial Records and Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive financial records, including ledgers, financial statements, and expense reports.
  • Generate financial reports and statements to provide insights into the financial health of the organization.

7. Accounts Payable Management:

  • Process and review all incoming invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper authorization.
  • Prepare and execute payment schedules, including vendor payments, utility bills, and other financial obligations.
  • Reconcile accounts payable with financial records, addressing discrepancies promptly.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A professional accounting qualification/certification is a plus.
  • 2-4 Years of proven experience in accounting and financial management, with a focus on accounts payable, taxation, EOBI, and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of lease management is an advantage.
