Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Analysis:Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, often involving variance analysis.
• Account Management:Manage and reconcile accounts payable and receivable, general ledger accounts, and fixed asset schedules.
• Compliance:Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal policies, and support internal and external audits.
• Budgeting & Forecasting:Participate in the budgeting and forecasting processes, monitor budget vs. actual performance, and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Internal Controls:Develop, document, and implement business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Process Improvement:Identify inefficiencies, suggest improvements to accounting systems and procedures, and develop documentation for new policies.
• Staff Supervision:Oversee and mentor junior accounting staff, plan their work, and review their tasks.
• Audits & Taxes:Assist with tax returns, coordinate with external auditors, and support internal audit processes.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education:A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is typically required; many positions prefer a master's degree or CPA certification.
• Experience:Several years of prior experience in accounting, sometimes including supervisory experience.
• Technical Skills:Proficiency with accounting software packages (e.g., QuickBooks, FreshBooks) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential.
• Analytical Skills:Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills to analyze complex data and identify errors.
• Attention to Detail:A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is crucial for financial work.
• Communication Skills:Excellent communication skills to present financial information to executives and consult with personnel on accounting procedures.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
