Senior Accountant

Malappuram, India

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the finance team in budgeting, audits, and decision-making processes. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to supervise junior accountants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare financial statements, management reports, and statutory filings in compliance with regulations.
  • Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
  • Oversee tax compliance, GST, TDS, and other statutory requirements.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
  • Supervise, mentor, and guide junior accountants and finance staff.
  • Collaborate with management for strategic financial planning and cost control.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting for decision-making
  • Key Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, and statutory compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, ERP, SAP, or similar).
  • Advanced MS Excel and financial analysis skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
