Senior Accountant

Job Title: Senior Accountant – Construction IndustryJob Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in the construction sector to manage and oversee daily accounting operations, project-related financial activities, and ensure compliance with company policies and UAE regulations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in project costing, WIP (work-in-progress) reporting, subcontractor payments, and financial analysis within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Handle project costing, job costing, and WIP (Work in Progress) schedules.
• Monitor and control project budgets, expenses, and cost allocations.
• Verify subcontractor invoices, supplier bills, and ensure timely payments.
• Manage retention, advance payments, and variation orders as per construction contracts.
• Coordinate with project managers to track project profitability and cash flows.
• Ensure compliance with VAT laws and UAE labour/finance regulations.
• Supervise junior accountants and provide guidance on accounting procedures.
• Assist in external and internal audits by providing necessary documentation.
• Prepare financial reports for management decision-making.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CA/ACCA preferred).
• Minimum 5–7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in the construction industry in the UAE/GCC.
• Strong knowledge of construction project accounting, WIP, revenue recognition, and cost control.
• Familiarity with ERP/accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or equivalent).
• Solid understanding of UAE VAT regulations and compliance.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
