Senior Accountant

Core Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting & Analysis:
• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
• Prepare reports and presentations for management, highlighting key financial performance indicators.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Accounting Operations:
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Ensure proper documentation and reconciliation of transactions.
• Process and reconcile bank statements.
• Manage payroll processes.
• Tax Compliance:
• Prepare and file tax returns, including GST returns (GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B).
• Handle TDS and TCS compliance.
• Stay updated with changes in tax regulations and compliance requirements.
• Auditing:
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
• Supervision (Potentially):
• Supervise and mentor junior accountants.
• Train staff on accounting policies and procedures.
• Other Responsibilities:
• Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts.
• Maintain the general ledger.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Participate in cross-functional projects.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Experience: 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the retail industry.
• Certifications: CPA or CMA preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills.

Retail Industry Specifics:

• Understanding of Retail Financials: Knowledge of retail-specific accounting practices, such as inventory management, pricing strategies, and sales analysis.
• E-commerce Experience: Experience with e-commerce financial processes is a plus.
• Inventory Management: Understanding of inventory accounting and control procedures.
• Point-of-Sale (POS) Systems: Familiarity with POS systems and their impact on financial reporting.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
