About the Role
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Senior Accountant to manage and oversee accounting operations for our finance department. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting skills, proven experience in full-cycle accounting, and is ready to join immediately in Bahrain. This role is key to ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and supporting strategic financial decisions.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Accountant, you will:
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS standards.
- Perform bank, account, and intercompany reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor and manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Support internal and external audits, preparing schedules and necessary documentation.
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, statutory requirements, and company accounting policies.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.
- Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations to management.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- 3–5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in Bahrain or GCC region.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS accounting standards and local regulatory requirements.
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks, Tally, SAP, or ERP systems).
- Proven experience in preparing financial statements, reports, and audits.
Preferred:
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
- Leadership and mentoring experience within an accounting team.
