Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will enjoy working hands-on in accounting with a “roll up your sleeves” approach.
Duties
- Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing, including preparation of journal entries, account/variance analysis, and coordination of audits
- Examine, verify, and reconcile account statements, expense reports, invoices, and various business transactions
- Oversees all activities within the accounting department.
- Personal property returns
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations
- Assisting in the completion of year-end external audit.
- Manage and maintain the general ledger
- Preparing sales tax returns and corporate reporting requirements
- Perform various balance sheet reconciliations, such as credit card reconciliation, major cash account reconciliations and major reserve account reconciliations
- Complete understanding of department’s accounting policies and practices, GAAP, and all local, state and federal tax rules and regulations.
- Reviews accounting processes and recommends changes or improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Responsible for maintaining the accuracy and reliability of the internal control framework surrounding financial reporting.
- Responsible for internal, external, state, and regulatory audits.
- Posting bank transactions and completing month-end bank reconciliations
- Assisting with remitting and recording payments to vendors
- Creating and remitting invoices to customers
- Maintain automated payables system including bill payments and enter GL accruals when needed.
- Review and approve invoice payment requests within accounts payable system as to appropriate coding, accuracy versus supporting documentation and conformity with the approved budget.
- AP & AR processing and management
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- BS degree in Accounting٫ Finance or other relevant are; a certification such as CMA or CPA is a bonus
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience.
- Advance Excel skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills
- Ability to query, manage, comprehend, and provide analysis for large data sets and complex business documents required
- Strong work ethic and the ability to meet set deadlines
- Prior experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Understanding of financial accounting statements
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $74,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
