Senior Accountant

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team and contribute to this mission.

The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing and overseeing core accounting activities in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This role plays a key part in the monthly close, financial reporting, inventory and cost analysis, and balance sheet integrity. The Senior Accountant partners closely with Finance, Operations, and Sales to deliver accurate financial insights, strengthen internal controls, and drive continuous process improvements in a manufacturing environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead monthly close activities, including preparation, review, and analysis of journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Facilitate monthly management reporting to the corporate finance by coordinating deadlines, preparing key financial schedules, highlighting variances, and ensuring data accuracy.
  • Analyze operating results and prepare clear, concise monthly variance explanations for leadership.
  • Develop, document, and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Perform detailed inventory analysis and collaborate with Sales and Operations to identify excess or obsolete inventory and recommend appropriate disposition strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and support internal and external audit requests as needed.
  • Manage accounts receivable aging, support timely collections, and resolve customer discrepancies.
  • Prepare and monitor accruals to support an efficient and accurate close process.
  • Oversee treasury-related activities including bank reconciliations, cash receipts, and other cash transactions.
  • Manage capital asset accounting, including additions, disposals, retirements, depreciation, and coordination with project managers on cash flow, timing, and commitments.
  • Support financial oversight of special customer and vendor agreements and provide timely status updates to leadership.
  • Assist the Controller with departmental priorities, mentoring, and review of accounting work as appropriate.

  • Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
  • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
  • Support safety policies and programs.

Qualifications:
Education / Experience / Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
  • Three to seven years of progressive accounting experience; manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Sage or SAP Business One preferred) and financial reporting tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills strongly preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial information.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to partner across functions.
  • Adaptability and comfort working in a fast-paced, growing, and changing environment.
