Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. Duties
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct detailed balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and general ledger accounting to maintain integrity of financial data.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and vendor relations.
- Oversee cash management activities, including forecasting, cash flow analysis, and bank reconciliations to optimize liquidity.
- Ensure regulatory reporting requirements are met accurately and timely for governmental agencies and other stakeholders.
- Support internal controls related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance, including documentation and testing of key controls.
- Lead technical accounting projects involving complex transactions such as revenue recognition under ASC 606 or lease accounting under ASC 842.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Assist with budgeting, financial analysis, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic planning initiatives.
- Write comprehensive financial reports that clearly communicate findings and insights for management review.
- Collaborate with auditors during external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Extensive experience in public accounting or corporate accounting environments with a focus on governmental or non-profit sectors is advantageous.
- Deep understanding of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance standards, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Proven expertise in technical accounting topics such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, account reconciliation, and general ledger management.
- Proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero or similar tools; experience with financial management systems is essential.
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts such as budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis techniques.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately and efficiently.
- Exceptional attention to detail combined with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
