Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective use of the ERP system for all financial transactions. This role requires strong technical knowledge of accounting, advanced ERP system proficiency, and the ability to support operational efficiency through structured financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Operations.
- Perform bank statement reconciliation with ERP to ensure all balances match.
- Validate and reconcile inventory records with ERP, ensuring accurate stock valuation.
- Verify and match delivery notes with invoices and ERP postings.
- Monitor and record product returns and expiry adjustments in ERP.
- Update and post accounts payable entries into ERP.
- Prepare daily cash flow statements and submit to management.
- Reconcile invoices and outward deliveries (including coordination with GWC or logistics partner).
- Prepare and finalize daily financial reports in ERP for management review.
Monthly & Periodic Duties:
- Lead month-end and year-end closing activities within ERP.
- Prepare and analyze P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
- Support budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Maintain supplier accounts and ensure timely settlement of liabilities.
- Support external and internal audits with complete ERP-based financial data.
- Conduct periodic financial health checks and advise on cost optimization.
ERP System Oversight:
- Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for the ERP finance module.
- Ensure proper configuration, data integrity, and user compliance in ERP.
- Train and support team members on ERP financial processes.
- Liaise with ERP vendors or IT support for system improvements and troubleshooting.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong command of accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP).
- Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with ERP systems (Odoo, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
- Proficiency in financial reconciliation, reporting, and analysis.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and compliance mindset.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (Master’s preferred).
- Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA) is an advantage.
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in FMCG or distribution sector.
- Proven experience as an ERP Finance Specialist or ERP Super User.
- Strong knowledge of Qatari VAT, taxation, and regulatory requirements.
Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- 100% daily bank reconciliation accuracy.
- On-time month-end closing (≤ 5 working days).
- Invoice error rate < 1%.
- Supplier payments processed within agreed terms.
- Zero audit non-compliance findings.
- ERP system uptime and accuracy ≥ 99%.
