The position is responsible for supporting the country compliance manager in projects related to AML, including setting up, implementing, and maintaining ongoing improvement of an effective regulatory compliance program. In addition, the position responsible in handling alerts generated in the AML System including transaction monitoring and name sanction screening alerts which arise during the payment transactions or onboarding of a client whether at time of onboarding or

periodically.


The role holder is also responsible to address AML and economic sanctions related alerts to ensure efficient identification of ML risks and prompt reporting of suspicious transactions ensuring reporting timeframes are being met in coordination with the Head of compliance /MLRO.


Responsibilities


• Handling Customers KYC Risk-based reviews, ensuring identified gaps including (wrong merchant data or classification, expired documents, missing documents,…,etc) are communicated with responsible stakeholders and follow-up until successful completion in a timely manners.

• Acting as second eye and contribute to clearing all AML system alerts related to transaction monitoring and/or name screening generated by the AML system ensuring all are closed satisfactory, otherwise clear requirements are communicated with relevant stakeholders and follow-ups for closure in timely manners.

• Ensure high risk clients are registered duly and sanctions/PEP related cases are identified. and subject to enhance due diligence as required by the AML policy.

• Advise Business units on AML / KYC requirements and perform AML risk assessment when required.

• Escalate to Head of compliance any suspicious merchant activities or any serious adverse news in order to decide for termination of merchants (if applicable);

• Ensure in monitoring the changes in the national list, ensuring all actions resulted from the changes are tested duly against NIJ client data base and AML System lists are updated duly.

• Assist with ad hoc projects related to KYC and AML Monitoring and regulatory change initiatives.

• Conduct initial analysis of customer transactions using internal/external research tools in order to assess and determine if the transactions seem plausible or if there is reasonable suspicion that the transaction involves money laundering. Identification of suspicious or

unusual transactions, non-compliant activity, or increased compliance risk.

• Accurately document rationale for case closure or escalation as appropriate.

• Undertake prompt closure of eligible alerts not deemed as unusual or suspicious.

• Preparation of customer transaction analysis summaries on request.

• Assist in the development of in-person AML/Economic Sanction compliance training for any new employees.

• Regular update on procedure in accordance with the guidelines set by the Group and regulators.

• Support with delivery of key elements of the Compliance program activities (including training, regulatory reviews, assurance testing,…., etc).


Qualifications


• Degree educated and a strong academic/professional work record with preference for accounting, legal, Risk/Compliance background.

• Acceptable level of English proficiency.

• A compliance qualification would be a distinct advantage.

• 2 to 4 Experience working within a regulated entity, preferably in the payment industry.

• Computer literacy essential (Microsoft Excel and Word essential – PowerPoint useful).

• Good report writing and presentation skills.

• Focused attitude to work with the ability to constantly meet deadlines while ensuring attention to detail, and high level of accuracy.

• Superior interpersonal and communication skills.

• Strong analytical skills required to organize and analyze multiple, complex data sets as well as strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

• Strong database skills, including working with advanced data sets, pivot tables, advanced database and statistical functions and methods.
