JOB PURPOSE
The Sr. Analyst -Investment Accounting will be responsible for carrying out day to day activities related to investment accounting such as reconciliation of Finance NAV with Fund Manager NAV, preparation of sub ledger closing reports and assist in any other activities related to Investment Accounting.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist the Sr. Manager - Financial Accounting in ensuring that the books of accounts are kept up-to-date and that accounting transactions are properly checked and reviewed to ensure accuracy of records.
• Assist in preparing the financial reports by analyzing data, calculating figures, and reviewing results to ensure accuracy.
• Establish the accounting framework to ensure that all financial and accounting transactions are recorded in compliance with OIA’s accounting procedures and IFRS.
• Provide technical support on ongoing IT initiatives related to investment accounting to reduce technical problems.
• Perform bank reconciliations on general ledger accounts in line with bank statements to ensure accuracy of general ledger accounts.
• Review NAV reconciliation and sub ledger closing reports (investment accounting) and liaise with general ledger / business to address any reconciliation concern.
• Implement accounting system, procedures, and internal controls to ensure that all financial and accounting transactions are recorded in compliance with OIA’s accounting procedures and IFRS.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and provide all required information to the concerned parties to facilitate the preparation of internal and external audit reports.
• Communicate natural account changes required to the General Ledger section to keep track of its financial transactions and prepare financial reports.
• Comply with the implementation of departmental policies and procedures, to ensure that all relevant procedural and legislative requirements are fulfilled.
• Comply with all relevant health, safety, and quality requirements, in order to guarantee employee safety and legislative compliance.
• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘leading best practices’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
