What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Senior Analyst - Strategic Sourcing Vendor Manager?
Negotiate contracts, renewals, and licensing agreements to secure favorable terms, pricing, and service levels.
Review and analyze contract terms, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Ensure adherence to vendor licensing agreements and data usage policies.
Support market data governance initiatives, including usage compliance, audits, and risk management.
Identify opportunities to consolidate services, reduce duplication, and optimize market data spend.
Serve as the primary point of contact and relationship management of major data providers (e.g., MSCI, FTSE Russell, S&P, Bloomberg, ICE, Moody’s) regarding data licensing, data quality issues, and other vendor management issues.
Responsible for monitoring the contract renewal process and notifying appropriate partners.
Work with the Market Data Operations Finance team to support invoice processing, reconciliation and order processing to ensure billing accuracy.
Responsible for contract life cycle from negotiation of commercial terms and fees through legal review, supplier risk and finalization.
Partner with investment teams, operations, risk, and compliance to ensure index data supports firm-wide workflows.
Assess new vendor offerings and emerging technologies, recommending adoption where appropriate.
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
5-10 years’ experience related to market and reference data vendors and services, industry trends and contract negotiation
Experience with market data vendors (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv, ICE, FactSet)
Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
Strong attention to detail with ability to multi-task with appropriate prioritization
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners
Excellent analytical, communication, and vendor management skills
Results driven with attention to detail and the ability to move quickly and multi-task, while staying organized
Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to engage effectively with all levels within the firm
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, 365; experience with Coupa and Optimize Spend a plus
