Job Summary
The Senior Architect is responsible for leading and managing the full design development cycle of multiple projects from concept and schematic design through detailed design, IFC packages, and tender documentation. The role requires strong technical expertise in architecture and interior design, excellent coordination capabilities with MEP and structural disciplines, and the ability to manage and monitor a team of architects and detailers to ensure high-quality project delivery in line with International standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of architectural and interior design concepts for multiple projects.
- Oversee the preparation of schematic, detailed, and IFC drawings, ensuring compliance with project requirements and local regulations.
- Review and approve design packages, ensuring accuracy, constructability, and alignment with client objectives.
- Manage design workflows, schedules, and deliverables across several concurrent projects.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and internal teams to ensure timely progress and issue resolution.
- Prepare and review tender documentation, BOQs, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate closely with MEP, structural, and specialist consultants to ensure fully w integrated design solutions.
- Lead technical workshops and coordination meetings to resolve design conflicts and ensure smooth project progression.
- Supervise, mentor, and guide junior architects, draftsmen, and detailers.
- Assign tasks, review outputs, and ensure adherence to quality standards and project timelines.
- Ensure all designs comply with International building codes, authority regulations, and industry best practices.
- Conduct site visits as required to verify design implementation and address technical issues.
- Review material submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs during construction stages.
- Maintain strong professional relationships and ensure client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
- Minimum 12 years of professional experience, including at least 8 years in the GCC region with a reputable architectural consultancy firm.
- Proven experience managing full design cycles from concept to IFC and tender documentation.
- Strong background in both architecture and interior design.
- Excellent coordination skills with MEP and structural disciplines.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and other design tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-management abilities. Excellent English language skills.
- Deep understanding of International codes, authority requirements, and construction practices.
- The candidate must submit a portfolio demonstrating project delivery experience, including samples of IFC Architectural drawings.
