Job Description:

As a Senior Assistant Designer at Drury Design, you will play a crucial internal management role in ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of design projects. Your responsibilities will involve assisting Senior Designers in various aspects of design, project management and client support. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the world of kitchen and bath design. Here are the key responsibilities associated with this role:

Leadership:

  • Support designers in a higher level of customer liaison needs
  • Train peers with procedural standards, design software and overall team collaboration
  • Assess quality of assistant team design support
  • Own projects related to Assistant Designer team goals,taking full responsibility for solutions, KPI measurement and improvements
  • Assist the CEO with projects requiring advanced design work and confidential communications

Design Support:

  • Collaborate with Designers to develop design concepts and solutions for kitchen and bath projects.
  • Assist in field measures and the creation of design drawings by generating floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings using design software.
  • Research and source materials, fixtures and finishes based on project requirements.
  • Prepare design presentation materials for client meetings and presentations.
  • Help maintain and curate a library of design samples and resources for reference.

Client Liaison:

  • Attend client meetings alongside Designers to take meeting notes and ensure clear communication.
  • Maintain a positive and professional relationship with clients, addressing their inquiries and concerns.
  • Assist in conveying design ideas and concepts to clients, helping them understand the design vision.

Project Organization:

  • Support Designers and Senior Designers in organizing project documentation, including contracts, project schedules, and change orders.
  • Assist in tracking project progress, ensuring that timelines and budgets are met.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors to facilitate project logistics.

Requirements:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s (preferred) Degree in Interior Design or Architecture, or currently pursuing a degree.
  • Proficiency in hand drafting/sketching or design software. Experience in Chief Architect is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Prior NKBA membership/certification encouraged but not required. (At Drury Design, we strongly believe in ongoing industry education and certification. All design employees are on a continual path toward achieving higher levels of NKBA certification and participating in continuing education. We support our designers' certification journeys and regularly arrange on-site training sessions that qualify for NKBA continuing education credits.)
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for design.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Basic knowledge of construction processes and materials is a plus.
  • A keen eye for aesthetics and design trends.
  • Occasional Saturday hours.
  • Reception desk rotation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $51,106.07 - $61,547.10 per year
