Job Description


Canmore Capital is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Associate to join our team. The Senior Associate will be a key member of the financial advisory team, responsible for supporting all aspects of the advisory lifecycle, from client engagement and project analysis to execution and client relationship management. 


The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and have demonstrated success in resourcefulness and problem solving.  This role requires a strong understanding of capital markets processes, including onboarding clients, preparation of market materials, and client management.  The role will require multiple hard skills including financial modeling, project management, and writing of memos, client correspondence, and presentations.  Experience with U.S. federal funders, multilateral development banks, or export credit agencies are a plus.   


The location of the position is Washington, DC (hybrid) and remote hires will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Responsibilities


  • Conduct financial analysis and due diligence for client projects and potential transactions.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support advisory mandates.
  • Prepare presentations, documents, and other client-facing documents.
  • Assist in the sourcing of new client opportunities and company research.
  • Support the execution of transactions, including managing data rooms and communicating with various stakeholders.
  • Perform industry and market research to identify trends and investment themes in relevant markets.
  • Review and read corporate presentations, market research, project agreements, etc. which are necessary for the delivery of client solutions. 
  • Participate in meetings with clients and other external parties.
  • Format Canmore and client materials for external parties. 
  • Support market outreach on mandated transactions via email, phone, and other correspondence.  


Required Skills and Experience


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in capital markets work – either at financial advisory, investment banking, or issuer, preferably with exposure to infrastructure, natural resources, or emerging markets. 
  • Demonstrated ability of utilizing AI to improve efficiency.  
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling.
  • Strong ability to conduct commercial and business analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small, dynamic team.
  • High level of attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
