Senior Azure Cloud Engineer (Web Apps, Container Apps & Full-Stack Systems)

We are seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to design, build, deploy, and operate Azure-hosted applications and services, with a strong focus on Azure Web Apps, Azure Container Apps, and cloud-native backend systems.

This role is Azure-first. The primary responsibility is owning Azure infrastructure, application hosting, identity, security, and deployment pipelines, while also contributing to full-stack application development. Experience with AI-powered features is a plus, but cloud engineering and Azure operations are the core of this role.

You will act as a hands-on technical owner for Azure systems, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability in production.

Key Responsibilities
Azure Cloud & Application Hosting (Primary)

• Design, deploy, and operate applications using Azure Web Apps and Azure Container Apps
• Build and maintain backend services using Azure Functions, Durable Functions, and Logic Apps
• Design data storage and access patterns using Cosmos DB, Blob Storage, and Azure SQL (if applicable)
• Manage Azure App Service plans, container environments, scaling, networking, and cost optimization
• Implement identity, authentication, and authorization using Entra ID (Azure AD)
• Secure secrets and configuration using Azure Key Vault

DevOps, CI/CD & Operations

• Containerize applications using Docker
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions for Azure deployments
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting across applications and services
• Ensure production readiness: performance, reliability, rollback strategies, and environment isolation

Full-Stack Development (Supporting)

• Build and maintain backend APIs using Node.js / TypeScript and Python
• Develop internal dashboards and web applications using React / Next.js
• Integrate frontend and backend systems securely within Azure-hosted environments

AI & Intelligent Features (Secondary)

• Support and integrate AI-powered features (e.g., search, summarization, chat) within Azure-hosted apps
• Work with Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Search as needed
• Collaborate on AI pipelines, but not responsible for research or model design

Core Skills & ExperienceAzure Cloud Engineering (Required)

• Strong hands-on experience with:

• Cosmos DB, Blob Storage, Azure Key Vault
• Solid understanding of:
• Azure networking, scaling, and environment design
• Entra ID (Azure AD), RBAC, and secure access patterns
• Operating production workloads in Azure

DevOps & Engineering Practices

• Docker-based application development
• CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
• Monitoring, logging, and production troubleshooting experience

Full-Stack Development

• 5+ years experience with Node.js / TypeScript and Python
• Frontend development with React and Next.js
• Experience building internal tools and dashboards

AI (Nice to Have, Not Primary)

• Exposure to Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, or RAG-style systems
• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Cloud Code, VS Code AI tools)
