About the Role

Better Recruitment is looking for a Senior Backend Developer for one of our valued partners in the tech industry.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with NestJS, PostgreSQL, TypeORM, and Redis BullMQ, and will be responsible for developing scalable backend systems, managing queues and cron jobs, and ensuring smooth data validation using Zod.

A good understanding of ReactJS is preferred for effective collaboration with the frontend team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using NestJS and TypeScript.
• Implement and manage Redis BullMQ for job queues, workers, and retry logic.
• Create and monitor cron jobs and scheduled background tasks.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases using TypeORM (entities, migrations, relations).
• Implement data and schema validation using Zod.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs for frontend integration.
• Collaborate closely with frontend developers working with ReactJS.
• Ensure code quality, performance, and security best practices across all backend components.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure reliable and maintainable codebases.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural decisions.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of professional experience in backend development.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js.
• Proven hands-on experience with NestJS framework.
• Expertise in TypeORM for database schema design and interaction.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL (query optimization, indexing, schema design).
• Experience in managing Redis BullMQ queues and workers.
• Proficiency in cron jobs, task scheduling, and background processing.
• Experience with Zod for type-safe schema validation and contracts.
• Familiarity with ReactJS and API integration workflows.
• Experience with Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
