About the Role

Meeru Land Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and self-driven Senior Backend Developer to architect, build, and optimize the core backend systems powering our next-generation technology solutions.
The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in developing scalable backend services, integrating APIs, building automation workflows, and ensuring secure and efficient data processing.

You’ll work closely with the founders, product team, and cross-functional developers to build high-performance backend architecture that supports complex workflows and high-volume data processing.

Primary Responsibilities (Backend Development First)Backend Architecture & Development

• Build and optimize scalable backend services and modular components.
• Architect REST APIs, worker services, queuing systems, and backend modules.
• Ensure clean code structure, modular design, and efficient performance.

Integrations & Automation Workflows

• Integrate third-party APIs, platforms, and webhook systems.
• Implement automated pipelines, data processing flows, and background jobs.
• Ensure secure inbound/outbound communication between services.

Data Processing, Filtering & Validation

• Implement rule-based content validation, filtering logic, and sanitization layers.
• Develop classification/processing modules that handle large datasets.
• Ensure backend accuracy, data integrity, and reliable system behavior.

Security, Safety & Compliance

• Implement authentication, authorization, rate limiting, throttling, and exception handling.
• Prevent spam, unwanted usage patterns, and misuse.
• Maintain logs, monitoring, alerts, and security best practices.

Database Design & Optimization

• Design efficient schemas for SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Optimize queries for speed and reliability.
• Maintain fast data retrieval mechanisms and indexing strategies.

Secondary ResponsibilitiesSystem Performance & Reliability

• Ensure backend stability under high load scenarios.
• Implement retry mechanisms, queues, caching, and failure recovery logic.
• Monitor performance and continuously improve system efficiency.

Team Collaboration

• Work directly with founders and senior leadership.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, designers, and product managers.
• Guide junior engineers when required and ensure quality code reviews.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3–4 years of backend development experience.
• Strong command of Node.js or Python.
• Experience integrating with third-party APIs, webhooks, or automation workflows.
• Strong understanding of scalable backend architecture and system design.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB or other SQL/NoSQL DBs.
• Experience with queues like Redis, RabbitMQ (preferred).
• Good knowledge of regex, pattern matching, and rule-based logic.
• Strong understanding of backend security and data protection.
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
• High ownership mindset and ability to work independently.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with LLMs/AI (OpenAI, Claude, etc.).
• Experience with communication automation systems.
• Familiarity with DevOps basics (DNS, deployment, servers).
• Knowledge of microservices and distributed architectures.
• Experience with monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, etc.).
• Experience with AWS SES for email automation, notifications, and secure outbound communication.(must have)
