Role Overview

The Senior Barista is responsible for preparing and serving coffee and hot beverages to a consistently high standard while delivering friendly, efficient guest service. The Senior Barista also serves as a section lead, supporting service flow, team coordination, and quality control at the coffee station.

This role is critical in venues where coffee service is a core part of the guest experience.


Key Responsibilities

Coffee Quality & Preparation
  • Prepare espresso-based and speciality coffee beverages to approved standards

  • Ensure consistency in taste, temperature, and presentation

  • Maintain calibration, cleanliness, and correct use of coffee equipment

Service & Guest Experience
  • Deliver efficient and engaging service at the coffee station

  • Provide menu recommendations and handle guest requests

  • Support the upselling of food and beverage items

Section Leadership
  • Lead the coffee section during service periods

  • Support and guide junior baristas

  • Coordinate with floor teams to maintain service flow

Operational Discipline
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee station

  • Support stock control and waste reduction

  • Follow hygiene, safety, and SOP requirements


KPIs & Success Metrics

  • Coffee quality and consistency

  • Speed and accuracy of service

  • Guest satisfaction

  • Section readiness and cleanliness


Candidate Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience with leadership capability

  • Strong knowledge of coffee preparation and equipment

  • Guest-focused, reliable, and professional

  • Ability to work efficiently in busy service environments
