Senior Budgeting & Controls Engineer

Role Purpose:

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial and budgeting processes related to engineering projects, ensuring accurate cost estimation, monitoring of budgets, and maintaining strong controls to track project expenses.

Job Responsibilities:

• Cost breakdown for different activities and composite items.
• Validate the received data from design department to ensure full understanding of the costing principles.
• Monitor projects’ progress, comparing actual executed works against planned, and issue work volume status reports for Projects Directors and Top Management.
• Revise and follow up the variation orders and claims in cooperation with contracts team.
• Prepare local purchase lists and send them to the procurement and contracts department for implementation.
• Collect and validate the data from site team, procurement department and finance department concerning the cash movement of the projects.
• Study the project’s documents like drawings, specifications, and schedule, review tender documents.
• Track actual costs versus budgeted costs, recommend cost reduction and control measures.
• Discuss the objectives, requirements, and budget of a project.
• Prepare comparison sheets related to specs, price, delivery conditions and mode of transportation.
• · Coordinate with different parties to coordinate all issues related to budget.
• · Review claims and VOS to make sure to their alignments with each contractor aspect through their contract.
• Monitor project cost through the whole project period comparing it with original budget to maintain projects from running overbudget.
• Review subcontractors’ invoices.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree of civil or architecture engineering from reputable university.
• 4-6 years of experience in same role.
• Courses in project management and planning is a must.
• Proficient user of MS office.
• SAP knowledge is a must.
• PMP or project management master is preferred.
