This position will be responsible for performing routine planning and procurement of various components using an MRP system. Plans, purchases, expedites, and negotiates materials in support of operations schedules and demands. Maintains the MRP system data and its integrity, prepares and analyzes reports and supports new product development with new products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managing the procurement of materials from requisition to receipt, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize quality, cost, and supply continuity.
  • Maintain the material requirements plan (MRP) for procured components
  • Compile data and prepare reports.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers while maintaining strong, positive relationships.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing to ensure procured product quality.
  • Identify and evaluate new suppliers and materials in conjunction with Supplier Assessment
  • Manage supplier performance through regular reviews and assessments.
  • Lead risk management initiatives to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
  • Responsible for leading resolution of supplier related product nonconformities
  • Utilize the MRP system to generate, monitor, and adjust purchase orders
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, materials, operations, business, preferred or equivalent work experience required.
  • 5+ years in a purchasing/buying role in a manufacturing environment required.
