Fine Wood Interiors is a growing, community-focused cabinetry company serving Durango and the Four Corners region since 1998. We specialize in full-home cabinetry for kitchens, baths, and custom spaces, partnering with homeowners, builders, and designers to deliver high-quality results with strong communication and precision.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Cabinet Designer serves as the primary design and sales leader on projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to manage complex projects while maintaining excellent client relationships. This is a client leadership role, not a drafting-only position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Leadership & Sales Ownership

  • Lead high-level client consultations and scope development
  • Guide clients through budget, layout, and material decisions
  • Drive projects forward with proactive communication
  • Build long-term relationships with builders and repeat clients
  • Contribute to overall sales growth and retention

Advanced Design & Technical Execution

  • Create detailed cabinet layouts using 2020 Design
  • Produce presentation-ready renderings and specifications
  • Ensure designs meet structural requirements and manufacturer standards
  • Anticipate installation challenges during design
  • Review and approve final specifications before order submission

Project Management & Financial Accuracy

  • Prepare detailed cabinet estimates, specifications, and invoices
  • Manage tax considerations and delivery details
  • Maintain design timelines and prevent delays
  • Collaborate with internal team members for smooth execution
  • Assist in resolving warranty or field issues

Team Collaboration & Mentorship

  • Support and collaborate with other designers
  • Elevate internal design standards and best practices
  • Maintain high standards for documentation and CRM accuracy
  • Contribute positively to company culture

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3–7+ years of cabinetry or kitchen & bath design experience
  • Proficiency in 2020 Design strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of cabinetry construction and installation
  • Experience working directly with contractors and homeowners
  • Sales experience preferred
  • Background in construction, building materials, interior design or lumber sales a plus
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
  • Strong communication and leadership skills

Pay: $52,000.00 - $62,400.00 per year
