Job Title: Chief Accountant / Senior Accountant (Odoo Specialist)Role Overview

As the Chief Accountant, you will lead the financial operations and Odoo ERP management for the organization. You will be responsible for ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded with 100% accuracy, maintaining the integrity of the Odoo Accounting module, and bridging the gap between business operations (Sales, Inventory, HR) and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities1. Financial Leadership & Reporting

• Full Cycle Accounting: Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and fixed assets.
• Month-End/Year-End Close: Lead the closing process, ensuring all journal entries, accruals, and deferrals are posted correctly in Odoo.
• Financial Statements: Generate and analyze Balance Sheets, P&L, and Cash Flow statements directly from Odoo.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop annual budgets and perform variance analysis (Actual vs. Budget) using Odoo’s reporting tools.

2. Odoo Functional Management

• Module Configuration: Set up and maintain the Chart of Accounts, Tax Positions, Fiscal Positions, and Analytic Accounting.
• Inventory Integration: Supervise the "Stock Valuation" process, ensuring Odoo’s automated inventory entries match physical stock and COGS.
• Bank Synchronization: Manage automated bank feeds and perform complex reconciliations within the system.
• System Optimization: Identify gaps in current Odoo workflows (e.g., automating vendor bill digitization or OCR) and coordinate with developers for customizations.

3. Compliance & Internal Controls

• Tax Management: Handle VAT/GST filing and ensure Odoo tax reports comply with local regulations.
• Audit Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, providing Odoo-generated audit trails and ledgers.
• Access Rights: Manage user permissions within the Accounting module to maintain strict internal controls and segregation of duties.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Certification: CPA, ACCA, or CMA is highly preferred.
• Odoo Expertise: At least 3–5 years of hands-on experience specifically with Odoo (Enterprise version preferred).
• Accounting Experience: Minimum 7+ years of total experience for Chief Accountant; 5+ years for Senior Accountant.
• Analytical Skills: Advanced Excel skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets from Odoo’s database.

Technical Skills (The "Odoo" Edge)

• Proficiency in Analytic Accounting (Cost Centers/Project Accounting).
• Experience with Multi-Company and Multi-Currency environments.
• Familiarity with Odoo’s integration with Sales, Purchase, and Inventory modules.
• Basic understanding of Odoo’s "Studio" (for minor report/field adjustments) is a major plus.
