Responsibilities:
Berkley Select Claims Operations is evolving under the Operations 2.0 strategy to increase efficiency, scalability, and consistency through process redesign, automation, and offshore transition. The Senior Claims Operations Associate plays a critical role in supporting this transformation while maintaining high-quality claims support and service delivery.
This role fills key gaps during the transition period by:

Taking on more complex claim support activities

Serving as a right-hand operational resource to the Operations Manager

Supporting process stabilization, automation readiness, and offshore enablement
The role is designed to evolve as automation matures, shifting from execution-heavy support to higher-value operational oversight and complexity management.
Advanced Claims Support & Complex Work Handling
-
Perform and oversee complex claim support tasks requiring judgment, prioritization, and coordination with Claims professionals.

Serve as escalation support for non-standard, exception-based, or time-sensitive claim issues.

Ensure work is completed accurately, timely, and in alignment with established procedures and service standards.
Operations 2.0 Enablement & Process Transition

Support the transition of claim support activities to automation and offshore partners.

Assist in documenting workflows, identifying exceptions, and defining transition and handoff criteria.

Provide practical feedback on process gaps, failure points, and operational readiness during transformation efforts.
Offshore Transition & Onshore Oversight

Act as an onshore subject matter resource supporting offshore teams during knowledge transfer and stabilization.

Assist with training materials, job aids, and workflow clarifications.

Monitor early performance and quality trends; escalate risks or issues as appropriate.
Right-Hand Support to Operations Manager

Partner closely with the Operations Manager to support daily operational oversight and issue triage.

Assist with workload coordination, prioritization, and follow-up on operational actions.

Support reporting, tracking, and execution of operational initiatives.

Serve as a trusted delegate for coordination across Claims, Operations, and support partners.
Quality, Controls & Continuous Improvement

Help ensure claim support activities remain compliant with internal controls and audit expectations.

Identify opportunities to improve consistency, reduce rework, and strengthen operational handoffs.

Participate in continuous improvement efforts aligned with Operations 2.0 objectives.

Qualifications:
Educational Requirement
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required

5+ years of experience in claims support, claims operations, insurance operations, or a related operational role.

Proven experience working in a production-oriented environment with volume, deadlines, and quality expectations.

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a structured, corporate environment.
Preferred

Direct experience in insurance or claims operations.
-
Corporate experience within a regulated or highly governed environment.
-
Experience supporting operational transitions, automation initiatives, or offshore delivery models.

Candidates with transferable operational skills (e.g., from financial services, healthcare operations, or shared services environments) will be considered, with a preference for individuals who have worked in structured, metrics-driven production settings.

Experience partnering closely with operations leadership or acting in a lead/support capacity.
