Overview
We are seeking multiple highly motivated individuals with a strong work ethic to support Headquarters of the United States Air Force, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Space Acquisition and Integration, SAF/SQ International Affairs/Negotiator Support.
Responsibilities
- Provides technical analyses and direct support for SAF/SQ

Delivers a high level of expertise to ensure that complex, potentially controversial, and politically sensitive issues are appropriately articulated to multiple, pre-determined audiences and amplified via appropriate communications channels.

Develops and delivers communications products aimed at informing and influencing various audiences – internal and external – through numerous fora and all types of media.

Creates time sensitive deliverables that are strategic, well researched, tailored to the audiences and rapidly adapted to meet changing environments and SAF/SQ goals.

Conducts research, analysis, and interviews to write and edit a variety of materials such as speeches; interviews; social media content, conference presentations; executive summaries; reports; articles for publication in professional magazines, journals, and other media outlets; newsletters; news releases; notes and other correspondence.

Provides support to special projects and assignments, such as preparing congressional testimony, written products, and information papers on a wide variety of issues with audiences at the highest level of the nation’s civilian and military leadership.

Conducts technical analysis, including implications and alternatives, and writes these analyses and recommendations in clear, concise written products.

Develops, coordinates, and provides inputs to SAF/SQ for development, and implementation of policy and strategy for current and emerging national security space issues including, but not limited to Offensive and Defensive Space Control.

Develops, coordinates, and provides input to the SAF/SQ for strategic guidance regarding Defense Space architectures, capabilities and systems

Develops and/or reviews DoD inputs in support of 1) development of other national security space architectures, systems and capabilities; and 2) civil, commercial and/or international space architectures, systems and capabilities.
- Interagency coordination and collaborative policy support with such agencies as OSTP, NSC, DoS, DoC, DoT, DHS, OSD, NRO, NOAA, NASA, Army, Navy, Air Force, STRATCOM, and AFSPC on various topics.
- Drafts NSS Position Papers and develops Strategy and shapes adoption.
- Provides technical support to the Defense Space Council, as required.
Skills Required
- >20 years of applicable experience in an Engineering, Scientific, Analysis, Policy, Planning or Program Management field related to Defense Space.

5-10 years experience in or directly supporting DoD in force development or industrial workforce issues.

In-depth understanding of DoD staffing processes, space industrial workforce stakeholders, and applicable NSS guidance and policy.

Senior staff, writing, and decision-making skills.
- Strong public speaking skills
Desired Skills:
- Recent work experience with National Security Space (DoD or IC) community

Experience facilitating IPTs by collecting stakeholder inputs and resolving/scoring critical recommendations
- Recent experience supporting varied short-notice, high-visibility studies and assessments meetings, and integrated product teams

Work experience with National Security Space launch operations, acquisition and/or planning.
Education
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in math, engineering, business, or the sciences.
