Position: Consultant – Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgeon (CTVS)

Location: Indiana Hospital, Mangalore
Department: Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive clinical care in the field of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, including pre-operative evaluation, surgical intervention, and post-operative management.
  • Perform cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures independently and collaboratively, in accordance with established clinical protocols and best practices.
  • Participate actively in emergency and elective surgeries, including on-call duties as per hospital policy.
  • Work closely with cardiologists, anesthetists, intensivists, nursing staff, and allied healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Supervise and guide junior doctors, residents, and paramedical staff where applicable.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, NABH standards, ethical guidelines, and statutory regulations.
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and departmental meetings.
  • Engage in patient education and counseling regarding surgical procedures, risks, benefits, and follow-up care.

Qualifications & Experience

  • MBBS with MS/DNB (General Surgery) and M.Ch/DNB (Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery) from a recognized institution.
  • Valid Medical Council registration.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of post-qualification experience as a Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgeon.
  • Proven expertise in managing complex cardiac and thoracic surgical cases.
