Senior Content Marketing Specialist

  • This position is based out of our Westlake, OH office and is eligible for a hybrid schedule after the probationary period. (2 days remote)

JOB OVERVIEW

The Senior Content Marketing Specialist drives marketing-qualified lead growth by creating and managing content across the full customer journey, from awareness through advocacy, for Equity Trust’s retail investors (B2C), enterprise partners (B2B), and institutional (B2B2C) audiences. This role owns content production and assists in strategy across channels including web, blog, email, social, sales enablement, video, and campaigns, while maintaining consistent brand voice across all three audience segments. The specialist also leverages AI tools and builds scalable content systems to accelerate output without sacrificing quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Develops content and assets that resonate across the company’s three audiences: Retail Investors (B2C), Enterprise Partners (B2B), and Institutional Channels (B2B2C), translating one brand voice into distinct messaging for each segment.
  • Assists in strategy and owns production across the full customer journey, from awareness through advocacy, ensuring every piece connects to a larger strategic picture and maintains brand integrity as we scale.
  • Blog & SEO: Long-form educational content on alternative investing, retirement planning, and self-directed accounts—optimized to rank and drive traffic
  • Web: Landing pages and conversion experiences that turn visitors into leads
  • Email: Lifecycle campaigns that nurture prospects and retain clients
  • Social: Content for LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube
  • Sales Enablement: One-pagers, presentations, scripts, and collateral that help teams close
  • Executive & PR: Thought leadership, communications, and press support
  • Campaigns: Product launches, partner initiatives, paid media copy, and cross-channel programs
  • Events & Offline: Conference materials, webinar content, direct mail, and sponsorship support
  • Video: Develop video series, long-form educational content, short-form social clips, executive thought leadership, and customer testimonials
  • Develops new approaches to content production, leveraging AI tools strategically across ideation, drafting, and iteration to build repeatable systems that accelerate output without sacrificing quality.
  • Partners with the Marketing Engagement team to map and optimize content journeys across all audience segments, from top-of-funnel awareness through client retention
  • Applies SEO best practices across new and existing web content to improve organic visibility and drive traffic growth
  • Reviews and edits marketing content, both new and existing, to ensure quality, relevance, brand consistency, and appropriate tone across all channels
  • Works with the internal Compliance department to ensure marketing materials meet company and industry regulatory standards
  • Contributes to brand strategy and messaging for new product and service launches
  • Creates templates and workflows for recurring content types
  • Documents processes that enable the team to move faster
  • Mentors other team members on content best practices and AI-assisted workflows
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, or related field required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience Content Marketing, Marketing Strategy, or MarTech Operations, with a portfolio that shows range and strategic thinking
  • Proficiency in creating compelling and engaging content for various channels (web, social media, print, email, etc.)
  • Understanding of full-funnel marketing and customer journey mapping
  • Track record of building processes or systems that improved content efficiency and output
  • Experience with aligning strategic roadmaps to project outcomes
  • Understanding of brand voice and how to maintain consistency across formats, channels, and audiences
  • Experience with crafting clear and concise messages tailored to different audiences
  • Excellent grammar and proofreading skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Familiarity with financial services, retirement planning, or self-directed investment products preferred

TECHNICAL SKILLS

To be successful in this role, you should have experience with and an understanding of the following:

  • Advanced-level proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Content Management Systems (e.g., WordPress, HubSpot, Contentstack, etc.)
  • Generative and Agentic AI tools and automation for content creation (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.)
  • Bulk email sending applications (e.g., Pardot, Marketo, SFMC)
  • Project management platforms (e.g., Wrike, Asana, Monday.com)
  • SEO and content performance analytics preferred

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to speak and hear. The associate is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms. This job requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
