Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Contract Engineer to oversee contract administration, primarily focusing on post-contract activities. The ideal candidate will lead negotiations, ensure compliance with contractual terms, and manage commercial and legal risks across various projects. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong contract management expertise, exceptional negotiation skills, and the ability to drive the best contractual practices in alignment with company policies and industry standards.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Monitor and enforce contract compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks, disputes, and breaches proactively.
  • Issue contractual notices, early warnings, and dispute resolutions in a timely manner.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and manage Variation Orders (VOs), Change Orders, and Claims (cost & time) to safeguard the company’s interests.
  • Ensure all contractual correspondence adheres to time-bar provisions.
  • Lead high-stakes negotiations with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with legal, finance, and project teams to ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Maintain accurate records of pre-contract (Risk Assessments, Deviation Lists) and post-contract activities (amendments, change orders, correspondences).
  • Generate detailed reports on contract performance, disputes, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and implement contract management strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct site visits and lead contractual meetings with stakeholders.


Essential Skills & Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Law, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
  • Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., MRICS, CCM, PMP, or equivalent) is a strong plus.
  • Minimum 10+ years in contract management, with expertise in pre-contract & post-contract phases.
  • Proven track record in Saudi Arabia, with knowledge of local contract laws (KSA regulations, FIDIC, NEC, etc.).
  • Expertise in contract law, commercial terms, and risk assessment.
  • Strong ability to draft, interpret, and negotiate complex contracts.
  • Proficiency in contract management software (e.g., Ariba, Procore, or equivalent).
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Fluent in English & Arabic (written & spoken).
  • Experience in construction, oil & gas, infrastructure, or EPC projects.
  • Familiarity with claims management, delay analysis, and dispute resolution (DRB, arbitration, litigation).
