Senior Contract Engineer

China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC ME) is hiring Senior Contracts Engineer with extensive expertise in the construction and engineering industry .

Requirements:

. Academic & Professional Foundations: Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying (QS), or Commercial/Contract Management. Must possess at least 10 years of post-graduate experience, with a profound mastery of FIDIC and local standard forms (e.g., RTA) within the civil and infrastructure sector.

. Pre-Contract & Strategic Risk Management: Proven track record in identifying and mitigating contractual risks during the tender stage. Experience in reviewing and negotiating complex agreements, including Main Contracts, Joint Venture (JV) agreements, and Service Agreements.

. Comprehensive Claims Advocacy: Experience in managing both Upstream (Client) and Downstream (Subcontractor/Supplier) claims. This includes the end-to-end process of identification, notification, substantiation, and defense to safeguard the company’s financial interests.

. Legal Liaison & Dispute Resolution: Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal departments and external legal counsel to manage legal disputes, arbitrations, and court cases. Skilled in drafting/reviewing legal defenses, appeals, and comprehensive Settlement Agreements for project close-outs.

. Communication & Professional Accreditation: Full professional proficiency in English and Arabic (both written and spoken) is essential for handling local regulatory and legal documentation. Active membership in a recognized professional body, such as Chartered Member of RICS (MRICS), is preferred.

Skills:

. Good knowledge of FIDIC forms of contract and other standard forms of contracts.

. Good experience of claims submission and variations.

. Good negotiations skills to preserving the company’s interests towards the Employers, the subcontractors, suppliers, and the JV partners.

. Good communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
