Duties & Responsibilities
- Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
- Provide day to day accounting support for the plant.
- Supporting annual standard cost roll process.
- Work with plant controller through the month-end close process.
- Make necessary adjusting journal entries.
- Run month-end closing system jobs and reports.
- Ensure accuracy of all system-generated transactions to the ledger.
- Review monthly reports.
- Reconcile (detail to ledger) significant accounts: inventory, accounts payable, AP suspense, fixed assets, and inventory reserve accounts.
- Work with production control on review of work order variances and cost updates.
- Verify the accuracy of all inventory costs and transactions including reviewing the cost of BOM s, routings, cost roll process, and X-Factors.
- Work with inventory management on review of inventory transactions and adjustments.
- Provide support for plant management by producing necessary custom reports from ERP system.
- Assist in resolving potential system issues such as conversions, training, and support.
- Assist Plant Controller in review and analysis of plant financial as well as ad-hoc reporting.
- Support process improvements to improve efficiency and accuracy of the plant accounting team and the overall performance of the plant.
- Maintain and monitor all aspects of the financial reporting and manufacturing cost system.
- Assist in the assurance that all policies, procedures, GAAP, SOX requirements and standards of work are followed and compliant to expectations.
- Assist plant controller in the review and implementation of internal controls when required.
- Support Inventory Cycle count process.
- Assist the cost/billing of the R&M process
Required
- 5-8 years of prior cost accounting experience
- Experience / understanding of a Repair & Maintenance environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong math aptitude and ability to work accurately with numbers.
- Excellent organizational, written and interpersonal skills, attention to detail
- Advanced ability to evaluate alternative means of treating transactions.
- Experience of working closely with operational and other non-financial personnel
- Knowledge/experience of Sarbanes Oxley and other SEC requirements
- Knowledge of industry related concepts and terminology
Preferred
- Advanced Excel user
- JD Edwards and Hyperion knowledge is preferred.
- Understanding of Assets / Depreciation
