Senior Cost Accountant

Role Summary

The Cost Accountant will be responsible for managing and analysing cost information to support strategic decision-making, improve cost efficiency, and strengthen financial controls. The role requires strong hands-on experience with SAP (CO, FI, MM modules) and advanced skills in Power BI for data visualization and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

1. Costing & Financial Analysis

• Prepare and analyze product costing , standard costs , and variance analysis (material, labor, overhead).
• Support monthly/quarterly closing related to cost accounting.
• Perform WIP valuation , inventory cost reviews , and profitability analysis by product, customer, or business segment.
• Conduct cost simulations , forecasting, and budgeting exercises.

2. SAP Costing Operations

• Maintain and update costing master data in SAP
• Run cost roll-ups , cost estimates, and ensure accurate cost postings in SAP CO & FI.
• Review system errors, troubleshoot costing-related SAP issues, and coordinate with IT/SAP support teams.
• Ensure compliance with SAP financial controls and integration between CO-MM-FI modules.

3. Power BI Reporting & Data Visualization

• Build interactive Power BI dashboards for costing, budgeting, supply chain, and financial KPIs.
• Automate recurring cost reports and integrate data from SAP into Power BI.
• Provide insights through data modeling, trend analysis, and visualization for management decision-making.

4. Internal Controls & Process Improvement

• Strengthen and document cost accounting processes and SOPs.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvements.
• Support internal/external audit requirements related to costing and inventory.
• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and IFRS/GAAP standards where applicable.

5. Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Production, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance teams to ensure accurate cost data and operational visibility.
• Provide financial support for new product development, pricing, and cost-saving initiatives.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education

• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Cost Management or related field.
• ICMA/ACCA/CA finalist or part-qualified preferred.

Experience

• 4-6 years of professional experience in cost accounting , preferably in manufacturing or FMCG.
• Strong hands-on SAP experience (CO, FI, MM modules).
• Proven experience in developing Power BI models and dashboards .

Technical Skills

• Strong command of SAP CO (cost centers, internal orders, product costing).
• Solid understanding of inventory accounting , BOM/routing, and overhead allocation.
• Power BI expertise
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Good understanding of IFRS/GAAP costing standards.
