About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Construction Estimator to join our growing cost consulting and estimating team. This role is designed for a professional with a minimum of five years of hands-on experience delivering accurate, contractor-ready estimates for U.S.-based construction projects. The ideal candidate has strong command over quantity takeoffs, pricing, U.S. construction methodologies, and industry standards, and can independently handle projects from schematic design through issued-for-construction drawings.
You will play a critical role in supporting general contractors, subcontractors, and developers by producing detailed, reliable, and competitive cost estimates that directly influence bidding success and project profitability.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed construction cost estimates and quantity takeoffs for U.S.-based commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects

Analyze architectural, structural, MEP, and civil drawings and specifications to identify scope, quantities, and cost drivers

Develop trade-level estimates aligned with CSI MasterFormat divisions

Perform material takeoffs, labor calculations, equipment costs, subcontractor pricing, and indirect cost analysis

Apply current U.S. market unit rates, labor productivity standards, and regional pricing variations

Identify scope gaps, inconsistencies, and risk items within drawing sets and specifications

Prepare bid-level summaries, value engineering options, alternates, and clarifications

Coordinate internally to meet strict turnaround times without compromising accuracy

Maintain organized estimate backups, takeoff files, and cost databases

Review revisions and addenda and update estimates accordingly

Support senior management with benchmarking, historical cost analysis, and pricing strategy
Required Experience and Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of professional experience in U.S.-based construction estimating

Proven expertise in quantity takeoffs and full-scope cost estimates

Strong working knowledge of CSI divisions and U.S. construction terminology

Solid understanding of U.S. building practices, materials, and labor methods

Familiarity with U.S. building codes and regulatory requirements at a working level

Ability to independently interpret complex construction documents and specifications

Experience working with general contractors or cost consulting firms serving the U.S. market

Strong attention to detail with a high level of numerical accuracy

Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously under deadline pressure
Software Proficiency Required

PlanSwift, Bluebeam Revu, or equivalent takeoff software

Microsoft Excel at an advanced level for cost modeling and summaries

Estimating platforms such as RSMeans, CostX, ProEst, or similar tools

PDF and drawing management tools used in professional estimating workflows
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with design-build and negotiated projects

Exposure to commercial interiors, retail, healthcare, hospitality, or multifamily projects in the U.S.
