Blackstone Technology & Innovations (BXTI) is the technology team at the core of each of Blackstone’s businesses and new growth initiatives. Serving both internal and external clients, we work to build the next generation of systems that manage risk, create efficiency, and improve transparency within the firm and across our broad community of investors and portfolio companies.
BXTI is entrepreneurial – our open, iterative design processes and rapid pace of development means that everyone on the team has the opportunity to make an impact from day one. We are problem solvers who can take projects from idea to implementation. We believe in active mentoring and developing excellence. We collaborate to find the best answers for our customers and for Blackstone. We are critical to the firm maintaining its competitive edge.
The Role
The Senior Data Architect will play a critical role in helping to shape the firm’s data strategy and platform. This position will be responsible for the design, implementation and evolution of the enterprise data architecture to support the firm’s most critical functions.
The role will establish and maintain enterprise-wide standards and patterns for data access, integration, and movement, ensuring that data flows are secure, efficient, and scalable. Working closely with investment, operations, compliance, and technology teams, the Senior Data Architect will define the architectural blueprint that underpins the firm’s analytical capabilities, data governance framework, and digital transformation initiatives.
Success in this role requires a unique combination of high-level strategic thinking — to set the vision and roadmap for the firm’s data ecosystem — and hands-on technical expertise to help design, build and optimize the underlying data models, pipelines and platforms. The Senior Data Architect will help build a modern, resilient, and future-ready data platform that enables the business to leverage data as a strategic asset.
Responsibilities
Data Architecture & Strategy
  • Establishment and adoption of standards and Patterns for modeling, data infrastructure and integration.
Governance & Compliance
  • Collaborate with Data Governance to implement data quality frameworks, ensure compliance with appropriate regulatory regimes and enable audit-ready data lineage and metadata.
Technology & Tools
  • Optimize cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), data services (Snowflake, AWS Services) and data tooling (ETL/ELT).
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Collaborate with teams across the organization. Mentor data engineers and analysts, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and present architecture roadmaps and data strategies to senior leadership.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field.
  • 10+ years in data architecture, with at least 3+ years in financial services or asset management.
  • Advanced Proficiency with data platforms (Snowflake), databases (amazon rds, dynamodb) and ETL/ELT tools.
  • Expertise in data modeling, metadata management, and master data management.
  • Strong SQL skills and proficiency in Python for data engineering.
  • Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Sigma).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
