About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Senior Software Engineer to join our high performing development team and contribute to a data-driven platform that leverages Java and Snowflake SQL. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of software engineering and data science, and who enjoys solving complex problems with elegant, scalable solutions.

Job Description

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java. Write and debug efficient and optimized SQL queries for data transformation and reporting.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and product managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Design and develop features aligned with Data Science specifications, leveraging a solid foundation in mathematical and statistical principles to ensure accuracy and performance.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, Git and DevOps practices. Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to analysis and architectural decisions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks and production issues. Ensure code quality, scalability, and maintainability through best practices and testing

• 7+ years of professional experience in software engineering with a focus on backend and data systems.
• Strong proficiency in writing, debugging and optimizing complex SQL queries against large data sets.
• Excellent knowledge and expertise on OOP concepts, SOLID principles and Design Patterns. Proficiency in Java and Spring Framework.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to debugging and optimization. Familiarity with mathematical modeling, statistics, or data science concepts.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Exposure to AI tools like MS Copilot.
• Experience with Snowflake or other cloud-based data warehouses. Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Azure. Experience with data science tools (e.g., Python, R, Jupyter Notebooks)
