We are seeking a highly experienced and self-driven Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, support, and optimize enterprise-level Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server environments. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of hands-on DBA experience, strong leadership capability, and deep expertise in Oracle RAC, Data Guard, Exadata, performance tuning, backup & recovery, and database migrations across multiple platforms.
This role is responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, security, and scalability of mission-critical databases in 24/7 production environments.
Key ResponsibilitiesOracle Database Administration
- Install, configure, manage, and support Oracle 10g, 11g, 12c, 19c, and 21c databases
- Manage Oracle RAC (single instance & RAC-to-RAC) environments on Linux, Windows, and AIX
- Configure and administer Oracle Data Guard (Physical & Logical Standby) for DR and failover
- Perform database upgrades, patching, cloning, and cross-platform migrations
- Manage ASM and Grid Infrastructure (11g/12c/19c)
- Administer Oracle Exadata (X6/X7) environments
Backup, Recovery & DR
- Design and manage RMAN-based backup and recovery strategies
- Implement and monitor backups using NetBackup and Veeam
- Perform database restoration and disaster recovery drills
- Plan and maintain high availability and business continuity solutions
Performance Monitoring & Tuning
- Proactively monitor database performance and capacity planning
- Analyze and resolve performance issues using AWR, ASH, ADDM, SQL Developer, TOAD
- Optimize SQL queries, indexing strategies, and database configurations
- Monitor space usage, tablespace growth, and system health
Monitoring & Automation
- Configure and manage Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 11g/12c/13c
- Set up database alerts, monitoring dashboards, and health checks
- Develop and maintain automation scripts for routine DBA tasks
SQL Server Administration
- Install, configure, and manage Microsoft SQL Server 2000–2019
- Perform SQL Server backups, restores, migrations, and performance tuning
- Develop backup and restore scripts and manage DR procedures
- Support production, development, and testing environments
Security & User Management
- Manage database users, roles, privileges, and security policies
- Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements
Leadership & Support
- Lead DBA operations and provide 24/7 production support
- Coordinate with application teams, developers, and infrastructure teams
- Support application deployments and resolve database-related issues
- Participate in planning, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Skills & QualificationsTechnical Skills
- Strong expertise in Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Exadata
- Advanced knowledge of performance tuning and capacity planning
- Experience with OEM Grid/Cloud Control
- Proficiency in SQL Server administration and migration
- Experience in cross-platform database migration
- Knowledge of backup tools (NetBackup, Veeam)
Certifications (Preferred)
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) 10g / 12c
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Foundation Associate
- Oracle Autonomous Database Cloud Specialist
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Experience
- 5–8+ years of enterprise-level database administration experience
- Proven experience in banking, telecom, or large enterprise environments preferred
